Photovoltaic design requires
expert electrical engineering in order for the systems to work
predictably. ArcSine is well versed at evaluations and planning
for electrical services. ArcSine has on staff a graduate of Energy and Design
in Environmental Studies who specialized in Photovoltaic design.
Photovoltaics, until recently, have not been cost effective when being evaluated objectively. However, the environment is changing, and PV now is a legitimate alternative. We are adept at doing feasibility studies to determine if the choice is cost effective for the client. Photovoltaic technology is being used primarily in one of two ways based on similarities in operation and design. One is in systems that stand alone, where photovoltaics generate all of the on-site electricity needs. The other is when photovoltaic is one of two or more sources of electricity. The role for photovoltaics in these two types of systems is very different, and the design decisions and performance requirements are very different as well.
