SCHOOLS
ArcSine Engineering
has
experience in the design of power distribution, lighting, and peripheral
systems for schools. Most of the projects listed below include electrical
design for buildings, and many include detailed design of both indoor and
outdoor lighting.
Computer switching power supplies, electronics, modern
lighting, and adjustable-speed HVAC drive systems introduce undesirable
power distortions. ArcSine's designs provide appropriate provisions to
minimize effects on sensitive equipment, including computers and
audio/visual systems.
ArcSine's lighting designs fully
address functional and aesthetic concerns. We make use of both zonal
cavity and point-to-point lighting design methods, and we use
computer-based lighting programs. We evaluate new and existing lighting
systems based on initial cost and long-term energy cost.
ArcSine is skilled at meeting the requirements of
administrators and end-users, the Fire Marshall, building departments,
power companies, the Department of the State Architect (DSA), and other
agencies having jurisdiction.
Following are examples of ArcSine's school projects:
Performed field investigation and designed power
distribution upgrades for kitchen and multipurpose room remodel.
Power, lighting, and fire alarm design for
six-room, high-technology facility. Included provisions for 35 networked
computer workstations, video studio, and master control room. Power
quality was ensured through segregated power sources and power
conditioning equipment.
Power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm
design for science facility, including provisions for computer power and
networking.
Lighting and power distribution design for
fully lighted athletic field.
Design for electrical, fire alarm, and
lighting rehabilitation for over 100,000 square feet of high school
campus buildings. Fire alarm design provided for a new addressable
system campus-wide. Electrical design included refurbishing power
distribution equipment and providing a system of raceways campus-wide
for future expansion of communications and computer networking systems.
Lighting and power distribution analysis and design
for expansion of multipurpose and kitchen facility. Designed fire alarm
system.
Power, lighting, and fire alarm design for
complete rehabilitation of a 6,200-square-foot historic campus building.
Included provisions for a 2,000-square-foot computer facility integrated
with campus networks. This project included base and alternate plans,
also allowances for later conversion of electric service arrangement.
Power distribution and lighting design for a
multiuse facility including art gallery, dining areas, and kitchen.
Power and fire alarm system design for school
expansion. Included power distribution provisions for 22,000 square feet
of classroom space. Included raceways for intercom and other peripheral
systems.
Power distribution design for school
expansion. Field investigation, analysis, and recommendations for power
distribution retrofits.
Fire alarm system design.
Consultation and field services for projects,
including elevator and swimming pool rehabilitations.
Power distribution, fire alarm, and site lighting
design for a new charter school campus in Redding. The campus consisted
of eight portable classroom buildings.
Power distribution and fire alarm design for addition
of four portable classroom buildings to an existing elementary campus in
Shasta Lake City, California.
